Q1: Who should attend The Voice Spa™ Workshop?

A1: Anyone who uses their voice daily for work, (communicating over the phone or face to face with clients, teaching, chairing meetings & making presentations), will benefit from the workshop. It is specially designed for working adults to give you the all important fundamentals to make you aware of how good voice & speech can create positive impressions and help you achieve results! With good technique, you get better projection; with better articulation, you get clear & confident speech and with colour and inflection in your voice, you can keep the interest and attention of the listener. Learn to never lose the interest of your audience! (whether it’s one person or 50 or 500!)

You must attend this crucial Signature programme before proceeding onto the Key Programmes which both address different issues but each workshop complements the other and you can attend either one after the foundation.

Q2: Can my child attend the programme?

A2: The programmes at Art of Voice are designed for working adults. The minimum age accepted is 18 years. There are professionals who specialize in working with children and many wonderful speech & drama programmes that can help your child in this area.

Having said that, we do have trainers who specialise in one-to-one or small group coaching for teenagers aged 13 - 17. For more information, please call 6883 2331.

Q3: Can I really change my voice?

A8: YES! Most people who have never received training speak from a habitual voice. It’s just a voice you picked up by following sounds you heard in your environment. That’s why, many family members sound alike or have very similar speech patterns and habits. However, each of us has a different vocal instrument – the shape of our throat, neck, vocal cords, even our nose - gives us each a unique sound. When you go through training, you eventually find your optimum voice – the voice that was meant to be the best voice it can be for you!

Q4: Why do I mumble and have poor pronunciation? Can this be changed as an adult?

A9: We first learn how to speak, by following sounds & words made by our parents, siblings, relatives, teachers etc.. we were never taught how to speak! We simply followed, the best we could, to copy sounds and words. Thus, this is where all the problems start. If you are constantly exposed to poor sound, you end up with bad speech patterns and habits.
The good news is that patterns and habits can be changed by developing NEW but GOOD patterns and habits. After attending my programmes, many of my clients say “hey, why wasn’t I taught these things in the first place??”

Q5: What is different about Art of Voice Programmes?

A10: Art of Voice does not offer just another Voice & Speech Programme. As a broadcaster, I have had the privilege of working with some of the best professional broadcasters, actors, singers and voice coaches who have passed on wonderful tools and techniques used by newscasters, actors and media personalities. I want to share these highly effective secrets with you so you too can be a powerful, confident and engaging speaker.
